No country for educated men

You’d argue that a man running for the most important position in Sri Lanka would at least have a clean record when it came to his education. But not Sajith, who has shown his total lack of integrity when he lied to the public about where he graduated from and where he received his master’s degree. You see, Sajith never graduated from the London School of Economics, nor did he receive a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Maryland. Shocking, isn’t it?

When the Colombo Telegraph caught wind of this, our dear Sajith explained that he couldn’t graduate the full course in London because … he had measles which led to a paralysis that prevented him from attending university. But the funny things is, according to the official epidemiological data of the United Kingdom, confirmed by Public Health England, there were no reported cases of Adult measles in otherwise healthy adults in the UK between 1987 and 1992. Yet another lie from Sajith, it seems. Regarding his master’s degree – that was just a quasi-internship, he never finished his MSc, nor did he graduate from the University of Maryland. This begs to ask the question – if Sajith is so capable to blatantly lie about his own education, then what should we expect from him if he reaches a position of power? His lack of integrity and transparency should raise a serios question to every single one of us. Why? Because a fundamental liar is not only unsuitable for the position of President, he’s also dangerous for everybody around him. Is this someone that you want to be led by?
